Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Marvin’s United Movers website and the moving services we provide. Marvin’s United Movers is a licensed and insured moving company based in Ballantyne, South Charlotte, North Carolina, operating under a North Carolina Utilities Commission household-goods certificate and US DOT and MC authority for interstate moves. By requesting a quote, booking a move, or using this website, you agree to these terms.
Quotes and Estimates
Quotes are based on the information you provide about your home, inventory, access conditions, and move details. When we provide a binding flat-rate quote in writing, that price reflects the scope described to us. Significant changes — added items, additional stops, stairs or access not disclosed, or a change of date — may require an updated written quote before the work proceeds.
Booking and Deposits
To reserve a date, we may require a small refundable deposit that is applied to your final balance. Your date is confirmed once we send written confirmation of your reserved crew and locked rate. Cancellation and rescheduling terms will be stated in your booking confirmation.
Our Services
- We perform your move with our own trucks and our own W-2, background-checked employees.
- We provide standard moving equipment — blankets, dollies, and shrink-wrap — as part of the service.
- We offer packing, unpacking, specialty handling, and short-term storage as requested.
- We do not act as a broker and do not assign your move to outside carriers.
Liability and Valuation
Released-value protection of $0.60 per pound per article is included at no additional charge as the default level of liability, in accordance with applicable regulations. Full-value protection is available for an additional charge and is recommended for high-value items. Claims must be submitted to our office in accordance with the timeframes and procedures provided with your move paperwork.
Customer Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate move details, to ensure safe and lawful access at both locations, to remove or disclose hazardous materials we cannot transport, and to be available or designate someone to direct the crew on move day. Certain items — perishables, hazardous materials, and similar — cannot be moved.
Payment
Payment is due as stated in your written quote and booking confirmation, typically upon completion of the move unless otherwise agreed. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed by our office.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from a move is limited to the valuation coverage you select. We are not liable for delays or losses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including weather, road conditions, or events at the origin or destination outside our control.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The version posted on this page at the time of your booking applies to your move. Continued use of our website or services means you accept the current terms.
