One crew, your whole home, a price set in advance
I’m Marvin Caldwell, owner of Marvin’s United Movers. A house move in South Charlotte isn’t a few boxes — it’s the finished basement, the bonus-room furniture, the garage gym, the wine room and twenty years of belongings, often up and down estate stairs and long driveways. My own crews are built for exactly that, and every whole-home move starts with a walkthrough so the price is written, binding, before we touch a thing.
From a Blakeney townhome to a gated estate off Rea Road, our Carolina Piedmont crew writes the whole job as one flat number up front and holds it — no surprise lines once the truck is loaded.
We move the brick ranches of Pineville, Matthews and Mint Hill, the gated subdivisions off Ballantyne Commons Parkway, the golf-community estates near Ballantyne Country Club, and the large-lot custom homes out in Marvin and Weddington. Each one gets a crew sized to the home.
Protection first
Before a single box moves, we lay heavy runners against red Carolina clay, spring pollen and winter road salt, and pad the banisters and door frames. Furniture is disassembled, blanket-wrapped and rebuilt at the new house by the same hands.
What it costs
Whole-home moves are quoted as a binding flat rate after I see the house. The hourly rates below are the labor baseline that feeds the estimate.
| Crew | Rate | Typical whole-home flat rate |
|---|---|---|
| 2 movers + truck | $149/hr | 2-bedroom Pineville ranch: about $895 flat |
| 3 movers + truck | $199/hr | 4-bedroom Ballantyne estate with basement: about $2,150 flat |
- Beds, tables, sectionals and gym equipment taken apart and reassembled at no extra charge
- Released value $0.60 per pound standard; full-value protection optional
- Up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment
Walk me through the house and I’ll put a flat number on the whole move.
